Classes, Workshops & Parties!

We love our teachers with their amazing talents and love for their craft. They never cease to amaze us with the many new fun and creative workshops they bring to Yarn Lady. Below is a list of on going workshops and July workshops!

Don't forget you must sign up and pay in advance to secure your spot in the workshops. Spaces are limited!

Weaving

Beginning Weaving with Karen, Sunday July 25th, from 9:30- 4:30, $75 if you need to rent a loom, the rental fee is $30. This $30 can be applied to the purchase of an Ashford Knitters Loom. Learn the basics to this fun and amazing craft. Weaving is a wonderful way to use yarn in a new fashion. Cream Puff




Weaving Clutch with Karen, Sunday June 27th, from 9:30 - 4:30, $75. Join this fun class with Karen and make your very own woven clutch! Banana Split

Knitting

Baby Bolero July 6 & 20, 6 - 8pm, $35 Using just one skein of yarn knit this precious bolero for your little cutie. Cream Puff

Flower Washcloth July 9 & 16, 1 -3pm, $35. These flower shaped washcloths are the perfect gift for any girl you may know. Wrap them around a fancy bar of soap or lotions and tie with a gorgeous ribbon for the most wonderful gift. Banana Split

Ready, Set, Vest, July 7, 14, 21 & 28, 6-8 pm, $45, Join Laura over this 4 session workshop to make this wonderful vest. It will become the go to in your wardrobe! Use cotton for a summer vest or wool for the colder months! Cream Puff

Mobius Felted Basket July 12 & 19, 2- 4:30pm, $35. This is the perfect gift to make the person who has everything. Fill it with lotions and body sprays for a beautiful gift. Banana Split





Knit or Crochet Baby Blocks July 15 & 22, 1-3pm, $35. Makes these adorable knitted or crocheted blocks for the little sweetie in your life. Simple squares an great embroidery details make these the perfect hands on toy. Cream Puff


Beaded Bracelet July 23 & 30, 1- 3pm, $35. Learn how to incorporate beads in this beautiful beaded bracelet. Make the simplest pattern in the class and then work on harder patterns after you learn the basics. Banana Split

Jeanie Shawl July 28, Aug 4 & 25, Sept 8, 6-8pm, $75. Learn how to make this incredible cable and drop stitch shawl for a person you love or to wrap your self up in. This delicate shawl can be done full size or you can make it smaller for the most amazing scarf. Worked over 4 class sessions. Death by Chocolate




Knitted Christmas Lights July 23 & 30, 6-8 pm, $30. Knit these fun and adorable christmas lights with Martha. Great for decking the halls! Banana Split OR an adventuresome Cream Puff

Crochet

Super secrets of a Crochet Pattern July 8, 6-8pm, $20. Learn the super secrets of crochet patterns to unlock a world of new understanding. All of a sudden you'll just go "Duh!!" Cream Puff

Dyeing

Mini Dyeing Workshop July 22 & 29, 6-8pm, $40- supplies included. Come join Jan in these oh-so-fun mini dyeing workshops. Learn how ro dye your very own yarn in any colors you want. All the materials are included so all you have to do is bring your imagination! After your yarn is dry bring it back to see what everyone else's looks like and work it up in a great pattern. As a side note Jan will be demonstrating Dyeing on July 10th. Jan will not have her regular classes on this day, but please feel free to come in and knit with us!

Wet Felting

Silk Merino Scarf July 10, 4 - 6:30 pm, $25. Fun and easy project to make for a gift or for yourself. Make your own beautiful hand felted soft and luxurious Silk Merino scarf in just one afternoon. Cream Puff

Pom Pom Wreath July 28, 6-8pm, $20 plus $10 fee for hardware. Don't just stop at Christmas, make this cute and easy pom pom wreaths for all the holidays! Cream Puff

Party

1st Yarn Lady Summer Olympics, Sun, July 18th, 1-4 pm, $20 (all proceed will be donated to the Special Olympics). Join Yarn Lady and the dynamic duo Jan and Jen for a fun day of games and companionship to help benefit the Special Olympics. Of course we will have snacks and prizes!!

Weaving

Spinning
Beginning Drop Spindle with Karen, Thur, May 20th , $35. Supplies will be discussed in the class. If you have always wanted to spin your own yarn, this is the class for you!. In this class you will learn to spin yarn from a selection of wonderful fibers.

Spool Knitting
Spool Knit Necklace with Beate, Thur, May 27th, from 2:00 - 5:00, $35. Easy to learn spool knitting technique. Create a sparkling necklace in about 3 hours.

Knitting
Learn to Cha-Cha with Beate, Mon, May 24th, from 2:00 - 3:00, $20. Add texture to your knitting. A few rows of Trendsetter's Cha Cha yarn will add the "wow-effect" to your scarf.



Lace Scarf with Beate, Thur, May 27th, 12:00 - 1:30, $30. Create a beautiful scarf with a heart shaped lace pattern. Sooo lovable and soft. Made in two sections. Learn to graft both together for a symmetrical finish.

Petal Bib with Jenny, Tues, May 18th & 25th, from 6:00 - 8:00. In this two session class make this adorable bib and learn how to do short rows!



I can't find the yarn.....Now what do I do????? with Jenny, Thur, May 20th, from 6:00 - 8:00, $20. In this lecture class learn how to substitute yarns from the ones called for in patterns. Take a stroll through the shop and talk about fiber and what all those little symbols mean on the labels. Bring along patterns that you might consider for future projects. Bring pen and paper if you would like to take notes.

Trunk Show
Yarn Lady is pleased to have an amazing collection of Loop-D-Loop garments ready to be admired by all. This collection has something for everyone, no matter age, size or skill level.

Dyeing

Dyeing Workshop, Thur, April 29 or May 27 or June 17 or 24, 5:30- 8pm, $75
Take plain white yarn and learn how to play with colors to make your very own hand-painted yarn. All supplies are included; 5 colors of 6-8oz dye, assortment of yarn samples and all other dyeing supplies.


Knitting

Basic Finishing for Knitting. Thur, May 6, 6-8pm, $20
Learn how to put the finishing touches on your knit pieces.
Supplies: 4- 4" x 4" swatches in St st and 2- 4" x 4" swatches in garter stitch (all in non-fuzzy worsted weight yarn), tapestry needle and extra yarn.

Market Squares Tote Wed, May 12, 19 & 26, 6-8pm, $60
Make this one-of-a-kind tote bag and impress even yourself!
Supplies: book, Bags: A Knitters Dozen, supplies discussed in book.


Design Your Own Knitted Hat Thur, May 13, 6-8pm, $25
Create a hat with any yarn and needle with the help of a simple worksheet.
Supplis: Discussed in class.

I Can't Find the Yarn- Now What Do I Do?, Thur, May 20, 6-8, $20
Learn how to substitute other yarns for the one called for in your pattern.
Supplies: Pen and Paper

Mobius Scarf: Wed, June 2 & 9, 6-8pm, $35
Learn the "infamous" mobius cast-on and then continue with a unique scarf.
Supplies: discussed in class.

Fixing Mistakes, Thur, June 3, 6-8pm, $20
Get hands-on help learning how to fix your knitting errors.
Supplies: Tapestry needle, assortment of crochet hooks (F-H), 4 swatches (4" x 4") in non-fuzzy worsted weight yarn (1 each of St st, Garter, 2 x 2 rib and seed st).

Personal Footprints Socks, Sun, June 6, 10am - 4pm, $60
Create one-of-a-kind socks made just for you a la Cat Bordhi.

Counterpane Carpet Bag, Wed, June 16 & 23, 6-8pm, $35

Learn the basics to Crochet. In no time you will be hooked!

Please be on time for class, late arrivals are a disruption to everyone. Plus you may miss valuable information to get started with your project.
If you must have your cell phone, Please put it on silent as not to interrupt the teacher.
Teacher's help students in the order that the students arrive. (for classes only)
Please be careful of any beverages you bring to classes and/or workshops.

Basic Cuff Down Socks, Wed, April 7th, 14th & 21st from 6-8 pm, $60. Learn how to make socks in this three-night class. Supplies will be discussed with Jan in the first class.

Candle Flame Shawl, Sun April 11th from 11am-3pm, $40. Learn the skills to make this amazing shawl. Yarn and needles will be discussed in class since this can be made in almost any combination imaginable.

How to Read a Knitting Pattern, Thur. April 15th from 6-8pm, $20. This is a lecture class discussing the tips and tricks to reading and understanding a knitting pattern. Bring pen and paper.

Beginning Entrelac, Wed. April 28th and May 5th from 6-8pm $35. Learn the basics of this intriguing stitch through a scarf. Supplies 2 colors of worsted weight yarn, #7 or #8 straight needles.


Bead Knitting, Thur. April 22nd from 6-8 pm $25. Get started with a beautiful beaded scarf and learn how to incorporate beads into your knitting.

Tax Man Slumber Party!!!!!

Sat. April 17th, from 6:30-10:30pm, $20. Bring your UFO's and wear your PJ's! We will celebrate the end of tax season with a night of tax free shopping.
