Personal Footprint Socks

January 22nd & 29th, 3-6 p.m. $60 or February 13th, 10-4 p.m. $60

This workshop is taught directly from our attendance at Cat Bordhi's lessons on how to make a "discovery sock" using a cardboard cut out of your very own foot. These socks are fun and easy! They are knitted with worsted weight yarn and one sock can probably be completed that day! Basic knitting skills required.

Jordan Lace Top

February 2nd, 9th, 16th & March 2nd, 6-8 p.m. $65

Lace is a wonderful trend for spring and summer. Make this linen top in a 4 week workshop and be ready for warm weather. Each week you will learn a new lace technique ending with finishing skills for completion of the top. This pattern is written for a wide range of sizes. Basic knitting skills required. Pattern included.

Introduction to Enterlac

February 10th & 17th, 6-8 p.m. $35

A multi color enterlac scarf is the perfect way to learn this technique for knitting a spectacular scarf, shawl, bag or pillow. Basic knitting skills required.

How to Fair Isle a Hat

March 10th & 17th, 6-8 p.m. $35

Fair Isle is an easy technique for color filled projects. Learn how to knit with two hands and two different yarns. Basic knitting skills required.

Baby Rollin Tam

February 23rd & March 2nd, 6-8 p.m. $30

Learn to make this fun beret for everyone in your family from babies to adults. Basic knitting skills required.

How to Crochet

January 26th 6-8 p.m. $20

The important basics of crochet will be taught in this one night workshop. Beginners will learn how to hold the hook and yarn, along with 5 basic stitches to start crocheting easily.

Dyeing

Dye your own Yarn

February 3rd, February 23rd or March 3rd, 5-8 p.m. $30

Hands on learning for all the information you need to create your own gorgeous, colorful yarn in one session. You will go home with over 400 yards of sock weight yarn that is unique and custom "painted". All supplies included.

Weaving

Beginning Weaving

January 23rd, 9:30-4:30 p.m. $75 plus $30 for loom rental

In this all day class you will learn the basics of weaving. You complete your very own woven scarf that all of your friend will love!

Learn to knit this fabulous wave afghan using different shades of worsted weight yarn. The teachers will help you choose the perfect color combinations to suit your taste.

You'll never have to knit another sock that does not fit! With Cat Bordhi's new pathway's for sock knitting, you'll learn the shape of your foot and how to make a sock just for you!

Slumber Party
Get ready for our fall Slumber Party, October 16th from 6:30 - 10:30pm. Our Slumber Parties are a night of knitting, weaving, spinning or crocheting whatever your heart desires. Wear your favorite PJ's, bring your UFO's and a dish to share with friends new and old. As always we will have many treats to eat and many treats to give away (the fiber kind of course!). $20 gets you in the door, you must sign up and pay in advance to attend. Want to make a cardigan sweater, but hate to purl? In this class we'll knit a custom-fit seamless cardigan in the round and then steek-it! Steek-it means cutting your knitting!!!! Trust me, it will be fine. We will meet for several classes over the next few months and learn to design, fit and create the sweater of dreams.




Fair Isle Christmas Stocking, Wed, Oct 6, 13, 20 & 27, $60 from 6-8pm
Join Martha Lyons for this four class series and you will learn how to knit these fabulous fair isle stockings using both hands and beautiful color combinations. Knitting with 2 hands is FUN and the finished stockings are amazing! These stockings are much easier to knit than they look. If you can knit and purl, you can make at least one in time for this Christmas!

Now that Summer has finally gotten here.... Fall is exploding at Yarn Lady!! Every week we are stocking great new yarns from all our favorite yarn companies in the hottest styles and colors. This fall look for soft chunky yarns with amazing new fibers- great for making cowls, hats, scarves and wristlets. Also back this season are the new novelty yarns, now referred to as "innovative textures". These innovative textures have a new twist making them great for not only accessories, but also used for garments and throws.

Come join Jan in these oh-so-fun mini dyeing workshops. Learn how to dye your very own yarn in any colors you want. All the materials are included so all you have to do is bring your imagination! First Project Landon Donation!

Melissa, my sister and I, made our very first donation of Project Landon to the Medical Center of Macon, Ga. This is the hospital where my sweet nephew past away after living for only two hours. He was born at 24 weeks and was just to small to fight. The hospital was wonderful to my sister and bother-in-law. They dressed Landon in a beautiful little blue gown with a white knitted hat and white knitted blanket. He looked just like a little angle.

Seeing how touched my sister was with Landon's clothing and how special his little blanket was to her, I wanted to do something in Landon's honor. I asked her if she would like to start Project Landon a non profit organization, to help provide comfort for other families who are suffering from a micro preemie loss. She was very happy at the idea of helping others in her son's name. By helping with Project Landon you are not only helping the families in need, but you are also helping my sister and her husband heal.

We are happy to say that there are many micro preemies that are strong enough to fight. By donating blankets and hats we are helping these tiny babies to have a fighting chance at staying warm and hopefully a full recovery.
